Sunoco Lubricants Cross Reference

Sunoco's beginnings go back to 1881, when Joseph Newton Pew and Edward Octavius Emerson incorporated Keystone Gas Company, which a year later lead to the incorporating of Penn Fuel Company, the first supplier of natural gas to a major city, Pittsburgh, for home use as well as for industrial use.

Sunoco, Inc. is one of the largest petroleum refiner-marketers in the United States. Sunoco operates five refineries in the United States with total crude oil processing capacity of about 730,000 barrels per day. In the marketing arena, Sunoco sells gasoline under the Sunoco brand in 17 states, principally in the Northeast and Midwest.

Sunoco's other company activities include the worldwide sale of lubricants and petrochemicals, the operation of pipelines and terminals in the United States, and the production of metallurgical-grade coke for the steel industry.
