ISO VG 460 | Rust & Oxidation Oil | Food Grade

ISO VG 460 Gear and Bearing Oil that is to employed in food and beverage manufacturing plants needs to satisfy several rigorous criteria in order to be deemed safe for use. The oils listed here are registered H1 and H2 lubricants meaning they are certified usable in machines that may contact food products and in other machines that operate in these plants but do not make contact with food. In addition to resisting rust and oxidation, these oils extend systems life while preventing toxic compounds from coming into contact with food, unlike most lubricants. These lubricants are also certified Kosher, Pareve, and are approved by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

ISO VG 460 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 460 cSt (centistokes). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities which is accounted for by the AGMA designation. The maximum and minimum kinematic viscosity of an AGMA 7 oil is 506 mPa.s and 414 mPa.S, respectively. Averaging these two quantities together, the result is equivalent to the midpoint kinematic viscosity measured in the ISO VG testing mechanism.
