ISO VG 150 | Compressor Oil | Syn Diester Base

Description

Compressor Oils formulated from synthetic diester bases are designed to minimize friction while increasing performance in all temperature conditions (this can be attributed to the High Viscosity Index (HVI) of these synthetic bases). Also known as Dibasic Acid Ester, Diester base fluids are excellent lubricants for reciprocating, heavy-duty compressors. Though these may be used in several compressor types, it is not recommended to use Diester-bases in equipment handling breathing air. In addition to its wide range of performance characteristics, Synthetic Diester Base Compressor oil keeps internal compressor components clean and well-lubricated.

ISO VG 150 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 150 mm2/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities. In the case of ISO VG 150 oil, those numbers are 135 cSt and 165 cSt, respectively. These numbers refer to the standard testing mechanisms used to determine how much resistance to flow (i.e. viscosity) these oils demonstrate.
