AGMA 8 S, ISO VG 680 | Gear Lube | Synthetic

AGMA 8 S, ISO VG 680, Synthetic Gear lubricants refined from synthetic base stocks are some of the strongest and high-performing lubricants available - though these lubes do not contain EP additives (which contain Sulphur, a compound corrosive to yellow metals), they do have increased performance characteristics over mineral-based gear lubes and therefore may be used in some heavily-loaded and even some extreme pressure gearboxes depending upon OEM specifications. Without the EP additives, these synthetic formulations can still stand up to time and thoroughly protect gear drives for extended periods.

ISO VG 680 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 680 mm2/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities of these oils, which is taken into account by the AGMA testing method. For AGMA 8 oils, these numbers are 612 cSt and 748 cSt, respectively.
