AGMA 6 EP, ISO VG 320 | Gear Lube (EP)

Gearboxes calling for an Extreme-Pressure (EP) lubricant are likely subject to intense working conditions including harsh temperatures and pressures. Though these lubricants are generally formulated with other performance additives, the EP additive in particular addresses the need for enhanced film strength and protection. This additive (though it is not recommended for uses in all gearboxes, so check with OEM specifications), present in AGMA 6 EP, ISO VG 320, EP Gear lube, is designed to prevent wear in the most drastic of industrial environments. If you need help determining which gear lube is right for your application, please call us at 1-855-899-7467.

ISO VG 320 oils have a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 320 mm2/s (or Cst, centistokes). This number is equivalent to an average of the minimum and maximum viscosities derived from AGMA testing. In the case of an AGMA 6 oil, these numbers are 288 mPa.S and 352 mPa.S respectively. Though these numbers do roughly equate to the same thing, it is best to consult with OEM specifications before employing any new oil in a system or machine.
