AGMA 3 EP, ISO VG 100 |Gear Lube|Synthetic (EP)

Description

Likely the most resilient lubricants on the market, Synthetic (EP) Gear Lubes are often used in heavily-loaded gear drives requiring a premium high-performance lubricant that can withstand the environment in which these machine components operate. These oils are formulated from the finest synthetic base stocks to provide the highest quality protection available - these base stocks are then blended with first-rate additive technology including an extreme-pressure (EP) additive: this combination yields an extremely high-performing lubricant that can withstand immense pressures and temperatures. Both lubricant life and gearbox life can be greatly extended with these lubricants - however, considering that these lubes contain extreme pressure (EP) additives, make sure you do not employ these fluids in gearboxes containing yellow metals.

ISO VG 100 oil has a midpoint kinematic viscosity of 100 mm2/s, also referred to as centistokes (cSt). The midpoint is derived by taking the average of both the minimum and maximum kinematic viscosities. In the case of ISO VG 100 oil, those numbers are 90.0 cSt and 110.0 cSt, respectively. AGMA 3 EP lubricants have a minimum viscosity of 90 mPa.s and a maximum viscosity of 110 mPa.s. These numbers refer to the standard testing mechanisms used to determine how much resistance to flow (i.e. viscosity) these oils demonstrate.
